PCIs from Joseph Ghio

Cambria, CA(Zone 10a)

I got the 'landscapers' special' from Ghio's last fall and three of them so far have bloomed (with many more to come). Just thought I'd share.

Stella,
Those are knockouts! Of course, there is no way they would grow here in New Mexico but they are beautiful.

Tonight or tomorrow I will post the PCI's that are blooming today...one is so bright yellow gold you see it from across the entire field.

I tried PCIs back in the 90s but they faded away within a year or so. So how do you keep them alive?? I watered them in the summer (I didn't know any better). So do you not water at all during the summer? That would be the norm for their specie ancestors since it doesn't rain here in the summer.

I do nothing special planted in part sun...water when I water the other plants all mixed in that bed so about once a week...but here they either grow extremely well or very poorly
