This morning I went and got a truckload of manure from a neighbor and a friend(another neighbor) asked if the people with the horses used a de-wormer, and if so, would it harm the garden when I used it. I don't think it would, but can someone answer that question for us. I might add that I've used her manure many times before with no bad effects, in fact I have the most wonderful soil, took many years but now it is fabulous.
horse manure
No, dewormer is not a problem. My raised beds are made of 50% composted stable stuff from a friend's ranch, and she deworms her horses. We regularly find earthworms the size of garter snakes. If anything, they get BIGGER, and are not harmed at all.
Thanks for the info greenjay, I didn't think it would hurt because I use a lot of manure too.
Makes for some good soil huh?
