Anybody growing wintergreen?

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

I'm thinking of trying a creeping wintergreen http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/1101/index.html in a bed where we have very little direct sun, but some noon-day sun. Sounds like this plant may work. Anybody growing it? Tips would be appreciated. Sheila

I have some growing in almost full sun, its in its second year and still just a small mound. Also have some under a tree in raised bed only gets part sun and it looks the same. Nice looking low plant that is evergreen.

Thanks, Chris. We have the native variety and it doesn't even mound. It does pop up everywhere on its own, though, and is nice to come across in the dead of winter. I moved some to a bed under some pines and it's spreading, but not covering. Like the native, but wanted to know more about the cultivar. Good info on its slow growth habit. Have a good gardening day. Gotta get out there before the heat! Sheila
