Ridiculously big and ridiculously beautiful

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

In pure Texas fashion, the Dancing Queen blooms are gigantic. I broke the stem while attempting to stake it and brought it inside. Blooms last a long time, this one's over a week old.

Here is Royal Velvet, blooms are a bit past their prime. Last year I got one scape, this year I got 3!

and here is ridiculously red! h. Johnsonii. Growth was stunted this year, but I don't get too uptight over that. Instead I cut it off and brought it indoors

WOW! Gorgeous blooms... inciting more than a touch of zone envy here at the idea of being able to grow amaryllis outside. Mine will be going into the deck bed for the summer soon....

Thanks for sharing your lovelies! You have a great eye for arranging them, too.... love that little red vase!

Thanks, everybody. I'm still a little peeved that no blooms on my Papilio, but I do have buds on 2-3 plants so, I just need to be patient, I guess.

Yesterday I had Picotee and Charisma in full splendor. ahhh.
