Am feeling a little ashamed to be asking if this is a gumnut, if so what variety? as I've seen other colours,

If it isn't a branch from a larger tree Cheryl.
then it's probably a grafted one, they flower from
a very early age and the colours are very beautiful.
Our local council planted the grafted ones in a musky pink
on our nature strips as a trial and they have done very well.
We are on a hill and they don't get much water.
