Tree form Hydrangea?

Wichita, KS(Zone 6a)

Was looking at buying an "Annabelle" and a "Quick Fire" Can they be pruned into a tree form? I'm limited on space and a tree form would help.

Disclaim Notice: I have never grown a hydrangea before, so all question may appear stupid.

No personal experience...but since 'Annabelle' is a cultivar of H. arborescens where the species name means "tree-like", I would guess you'd have a good chance. And 'Quickfire' is an H. paniculata cultivar, and I've seen people take other H. paniculata cultivars such as 'Tardiva' and train them as trees, so again I think it should be possible.

Too cute! I've got to remember that one!!!

Quickfire will make an excellent tree form if pruned corectly. I have one that is about 6 feet tall. Annebell is often cut all the way to the ground every winter. I vote no tree form for Annebell.

My vote is with Gary. I wouldn't try Annabelle. All the paniculatas make good tree forms. Limelight is a beauty in tree form.
