what is a black eye lily

someone gave me something they call a black eye lily. She said the bloom is yellow with a black stripe. The foliage looks like a bearded iris. I don't see black eye lily anywhere on the forum. Anyone know what this could be. I'd take a picture but it's not in bloom. Fran

Take a photo of the foliage, especially near the ground, that will help.
