Probably a Silly Question

Los Alamos, NM(Zone 5a)

Will there be lots of iris for sale at the AIS convention in Oklahoma City?

Hello Pajaritomt,

I'm not certain, but you may find the information you
need on the following link:

Hope this helps, Karen Marie

Thanks for thinking of me. I am already signed up for the convention and nothing says whether rhizomes will be for sale or not. My guess is that they will, but no one seems to know or be willing to say.
I would like to know whether to mail in orders now or wait until after the show. There are some cultivars I really want.

There are auctions and silent auctions at the convention for plants which ship in July. You can pick up catalogs, but they really don't usually sell many plants at the convention.

Its not too long now : )

Alot of newer rhizomes in the silent auction. You get to bid on an iris and put your name down next to the iris. If someone wants to outbid you they just top your bid with their bid on the sheet.
But if you are interested in purchasing iris, you will get an opportunity to check out many iris in full bloom in the display gardens. Make notes of the ones you like and buy them later from the catalogs. You would not want to buy them at this time of year anyways

Thanks all! I wondered how that worked. Of course, seeing blooming iris is the best help of all. It probably is best that there aren't many for sale or I would be impoverished in now time!
