More blooming

Central Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

Here is Vanity - the falls have a little damage from the recent cold snap.

Had a couple of unknowns pop up this year. Not even remotely close to any I bought.
Here is a nice yellow one.

Edited to id the iris.

Okay it looks like this one is probably Champagne Girl. Lovely. Isn't she?

'Bluebeard's Ghost' Standard Dwarf from Mid-America. Looks like there is some weather damage on this one too. Sad thing is I took this picture first thing in the morning and when I got home yesterday evening, it was already shriveled. I am hoping another bud will pop up on a second plant I bought.

An unknown historic Peach iris, maybe Spindrift.

Okay, so what does everyone else have blooming?

Beautiful flowers, made more so by the fact that it will be about a month before I have any iris blooming. Snow yesterday.

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

Here are two more I found had opened when I got home from work last night.

Wow! Both are great, Posie4U. Any guess as to their names?

I truly do not know. The foliage is so thick, I can't find a plant marker. They may be some that a friend gave to me and she did not know what they were. I will continue trying to find markers - hopefully, I will find them.

Great shots Posie4U.

Here is my new one today. Wintry Sky.

Had a bunch more bloom today.

I have been waiting for this one for years and years...and it is worth it!

TD,
Those are gorgeous flowers. It is so nice to see how they worked out in real life. I am a sucker for most of them. Does Raspberry Fudge have a special fragrance, as I have read? Tiger Honey is a wonderful yellow that shows off without knocking out the observer's eyeballs.

Doodlebug: Nice, I like them all !

Oro Valley, AZ(Zone 9a)

TexasD........... what a treat for the rest of us to view such wonderful iris pics!

So glad y'all are enjoying the irises. I sure am.

pajaritomt - Raspberry Fudge is wonderful. It does have a strong fragrance but I am probably the wrong person to ask if it is special. I am sensitive to smells and I prefer the lightly scented iris to the strong ones. :-)

Now for today's bloomers.

A new one

Wild Sharon

Thumbnail by Texas_Doodlebug
Central Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

This is the bud of Ocelot I took this morning. I tried to take a picture of the open flower tonight but it has been raining most of the day and it wouldn't have done the flower justice. I thought the bud was worth showing.

Doodlebug: I really like the Wild Sharon. When you say new, does that mean new to you, or is it a new introduction ? In other words...how can I get one ? (lol)

Central Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

yes, I should be more specific. When I say new, I mean new to me, like the first time it has bloomed in my garden. I got Wild Sharon at Leota's which is now out of business. However, they sold all of their stock to Nola's so you should be able to buy it through them.

Two more beauties. I have been tempted to buy Ocelot for quite a while. This may put me over the edge.

Scarlet O'Harlett

Wasn't too sure about this one last year when it first bloomed but this year it is lovely.

Coral Chalice - first bloom in my garden for this one.

OK now this one is suppose to be Starship Enterprise but it just doesn't look like it to me. Any thoughts? I got Starship Enterprise from two different sources last year and it looks like this one might be wrong. Too much color on the falls and not enough yellow from the pictures I have seen of it.

TD - Vanity and Lady Friend make a lovely picture! They certainly compliment each other....and I forgot to tell you that Ocelot is a beauty too!

I am enjoying all of your photos as this is the first year I've planted iris in AZ and only a few are blooming.....

Central Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

Glad you are enjoying them mrsj. For you, here is another picture of Ocelot. The first bloom always (for the past two years) seems a little wavy like the picture above but then subsequent blooms are a little more relaxed.

A new flower for me- was given to me as an extra. And what an extra it is!
Dream of You

Tomorrow or the next day I am looking forward to Millenium Falcon and maybe the real Starship Enterprise. We shall see....

Texas_D..................... so far my favorites are Maria Tormena and Striped Butterfly! both of those just took my breath away. They are now on my "wish-list".

I hope you keep posting more pics.
