I'm new to gardening. We bought a house last year and are just trying to get the yard cleaned up this Spring.
I'm in Southwest Houston. I've got a narrow border right up against the wall of the garage . I planted some Wood Sorrel which is sprouting up, but they are very short and I think that blank wall needs something a little taller to fill in between the Wood Sorrel.
I was thinking of Louisiana Iris. Do you think it's too late to plant them? Or have I missed the planting season already?

Is it too late to plant Iris?
In my limited experience, you can still plant them. I bought some in pots at Home Depot a couple of years ago about this time of year and they did fine. Actually, they did more than fine, they absolutely took off. Some one who knows more than me, might come in and say something different, but I say plant them. Only question would be whether or not you get blooms this year. Mine are on the verge of blooming right now, so if you bought them potted, they would probably bloom, but if you buy them bareroot, I don't know if they would or not.
