I do not know what this one is but I thought it was so pretty!

That one is pretty, Marie. Is it really as blue as it looks in the picture? I've seen purple clematis before, but that one looks truly blue. Very nice!!! How many clematis do have you? I've been noticing a few pictures of your blooms. Enjoy seeing 'em.

GOR-JUS! Do you have two clems planted there?

What a beauty! I'm so envious...can't wait for mine to starting looking as beautiful as yours does.

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

It is a bluish purple? There is a nother clematis and a passion vine and some hall's honeysuckle.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

That's a stunning bloom, Marie. Makes me impatient for this cold snap to end and see some blooms in real life :)

Denton, TX(Zone 7b)

It is gorgeous! Hope someone can ID it.

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

Wow, that's beautiful!!!! Wish you knew what it is. So it's a little purpler than the pic?

Yes I would say so. The color is really hard to explain. I hope someone recognizes it.

The reason why I asked about the colouring..is that it reminded me of my clematis "The President"...Jeanne

marie: Don't forget that soil, climate, temperature and time of day your photo is taken will affect the color of your Clematis. Also, some cameras have more of a bluish or reddish tinge to their pictures. That's why it's so difficult to capture the color absolutely perfectly. There is always going to be some variance. My best suggestion is to check at Clematis on the Web or through the American Clematis Society and see if they can id it for you.

Regardless, it is an absolutely lovely Clematis bloom and enjoy the sheer fact that it is rewarding you with its beauty.

Ok I will search the web and see if I can find a match. It is a bluish purple and did not seem to change color much during the day. Could be my camera though. I have not had time to go and see if anymore blooms opened or not to see if there is any change in color with different blooms.
I am thankful though because in another couple of weeks it will be so hot I will be lucky to have green leaves let alone anything blooming much. :o)

Good luck and enjoy those beautiful blooms while they last!

Phoenix, AZ

It looks like Clematis Blue Ravine. I am utterly taken with the color of the bloom! I am very jealous of all the vine fun going on here right now, I had one vine and the frost killed it, and now I'm feeling I need more.....I hate when you guys do this to me, lol!

Fishie-I would say this is a "must have" for you....it has your name all over it!!!

How beautiful! It reminds me of Ramona. Good luck with the ID.
