siberian iris sources

Madison, WI

I am just starting with siberian irises. Right now I have 2 young clumps. After finding the spot they like I am hoping to see the flowers this summer (I know they are blue). I'd really like to add more.
Maybe some trades would work out, but if not I'd like to buy. Any recommendations of a good and reasonably priced source?

I don't recall the nurseries names, but I remember seeing some sources for them under the watchdog on Dave's Garden. Do a search by IRIS under the watchdog option and it will give you lots of iris sources. You can browse those to see which ones offer siberians and view prices, etc.

I purchased from Ensata, Aitken's, Iris City Gardens, and Joe Pye Weed's Garden, last year, and all were excellent. I would probably not recommend one of these over the other, as they were all so good. I am particularly attracted to the Schafer/ Sacks siberians. Here's their website.

I know Marty and Jan at Joe Pye Weed's personally and they are wonderful hybridizers and very generous people. I have many of their hybrids. For a showy first sib, Over in Gloryland (Hollingworth) is a large husky guy (up to 36") with large flowers that I would highly recommend for a dramatic spot. Here's a pic with other sibs and Pink Ruffles poppy.
