CLOSED: Mystery bird in Florida

I hope someone can help me identify a bird that was on a palm tree outside my hotel window in Coral Gables. I tried to photograph it but every time I went to the window, it would fly away. The bird was grackle sized, all black except for some feathers on the nape of its neck that were yellow. They reminded me of the flaps of a desert hat. Its bill was orange and I think the legs were too. It made a very loud noise that sounded like a single peal of a car alarm. I have spent more than a few hours with Google trying to find it to no avail. (Spouse is getting visibly annoyed.) Any ideas?
