Help me shoot the moon

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

I get this picture with the following settings of my Fuji FinePix A120:
EV -0.9
Aperture f/5.6
Exposure time 0.435s
Res: 1324x907 (cropped)

I use my bino-zoom technique. I fix the 7x power binocular to the tripod. Then hold my camera behind the eyepiece and adjust the exact spot where I see the object in the monitor. I would have arranged the bino after focusing with my eye.

I have seen pix of the moon pretty good, posted once in a while by other members. I know they have been using a different and more sophisticated models, but mine has its own limitations which I try to cover up with the bino. How do I get a sharper picture. I tried with the higher res. But the white does give problem. I tried different EVs but to no avail.

For this shot, I have edited to be B&W.
