Just returned from a trip to Italy and the iris were blooming already in some towns. I took some pictures I would like to share with you all and wonder if you can identify a couple of the ones we photographed.
In the hills outside Florence, there were iris planted all along both sides of the road -- by the property owners it appeared. it was a really nice way to edge the road. If there were stone walls along the road, as there were in many cases, they had iris planted on top of the walls. it was really quite lovely. They appeared to have been allowed to grow almost entirely on their own. As you can see, there was an untimely snow when we were there. What could be more spring-like?
Iris in Italy
Very pretty but I have no idea what either of them are. Thanks for taking the time and effort to share the pictures with us.
