Growing treats for horses?

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Hello.

Check out my other thread:

http://davesgarden.com/place/t/702241/

My lot backs up to a horse pasture. I've been working on clearing out TONs of cowbriar vine and will soon have nothing but a wire fence and trees. I would like to plant to cover the fence, but not block the beautiful view.

I was thinking...is there something I could grow along the fence that the horses would love to munch on but not kill? Was just a thought, and since I know nothing of horses, I knew where to ask. ;)
