EB New twist

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Tinkering in the shop today and needed a pot for a Brugmansia.
Thought why not use a version of an EB.
I chose the round container so I would not have to worry about the sides bowing out after adding the dirt.
Also it is easy to add a round wire trellis if you want to add one.
The rope handles make it easy to move. One person on each side. LOL
Walmart for 5.75 each. Wish they would carry it in black

Great idea! Hope you post some more photos.

How large is the water reservoir, and how large is the mix compartment?

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

water reservoir: 5 inches high X 17 inches (4.3 gal)
mix compartment: 10 inches high X 20 inches (13.6 gal)

Shot of the wick basket. Used a large CD container and some wire mesh.

TA, thanks for your info. I am building some earth boxes and am using 4 inch dia PVC pipe, 6 inches long, for supports and wick basket, in 18 gal tub container. Just wondering about the size of the wick basket. Is there some way to determine wick area and wick length that will work OK. in 18 gal. tub. Some show a single 5 inch long pond basket wick and others show two 6 inch long tube wicks, 4 inch dia PVC pipe, drilled with holes for 18 gal tub eb. thought maybe there could be some relationship between wick length, wick area and planting mix volume.

Great -- you can spray paint it with black Fusion paint (for plastic); I've spray painted a lot of my plastic pots with this spray paint.
