This Iris was blooming on February 19, 2007 and had spent flowers then. It was still blooming March 19 and still had buds. There is a row of them planted next to the church. What type is it and isn't it unusual for iris to be blooming so early? We've had a number of frosts and nighttime temperatures into the 20s during this past month.

I'm not certain which kind you have there, but it's a purdy one!
Mine just began blooming yesterday, I'm so excited, because while
the purples are gorgeous, I see the whites are forming buds, too.
