X Post: Looking for Hay Rack style window boxes (affordable)

Metro DC, MD(Zone 7a)

Is it possible to find reasonably priced wrought iron window boxes in the U.S.? Can you recommend a source? I'm most interested in a 'hay rack' style as often seen on old fashioned English cottages. I ran a search in google to find a picture of the style that I have in mind, but surprisingly, couldn't find it.

I need several of them, but hope to avoid paying $100 or more for each.

Interestingly enough our local farm store had some nice ones .Don't suppose you have a Rural King there?

I haven't heard of that one, but I'll look at our local farm stores and report back if I see anything. Thanks.

Gosh, where did I see them...

LOL, I googled "window boxes" and got this.... http://www2.yardiac.com/details.asp?item_id=1711&tgs=1797242:7375153&cart_id=4142674:580136549472

This one is even nicer: http://cgi.ebay.com/SALE-42-INCH-WROUGHT-IRON-WINDOW-BOX-PLANTER-SALE_W0QQitemZ250095658454QQcategoryZ25461QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

How's that for a start?

If you tell me to use an actual hay rack, then you're in trouble, sistah.

Nope - not me! I edited my post, look above.

Yes, that's the right ballpark for style, but am crossing fingers for better prices (the $50 16" one in the first link is too small; I'd need at least 36" which bumps the price way up)... I've got an email in to the ebay seller with a couple questions. Thanks for the sleuthing! I'll let you know what happens.

I may need to just suck it up and drop a chunka change. Oi vei.

I just received my order for window hayrack planters from the Kinsman Co., at kinsmangarden.com phone number 800-733-4146. They are very well made, heavy duty and I'm very pleased with them.

Wrightie - I'm not sure if this is the style your looking for but check out a Rustic Garden. Their prices are pretty reasonable.

Do you have a Big Lots or Odd Lots store in your area? I got several there last year for under $10 apiece. I don't exactly remember the price....but it wasn't too awfully much.
