I have been looking thru my Bearded Iris photos lately and have found that certain color patterns draw my eye. I really enjoy the contrasting colors of veins on some of the falls. It can be a subtle or brilliant as on this lovely old King's Jester TB
Pink Tiger (1965) has lovley distinct veins of color.
How about the exquisite wash of colors and veins on the more modern Apache Rose (1982)
The veining on Tropical Butterfly just seems to "pop" out at me.
Tangerine Carnival TB is 1957 historic that makes me look closer.....
Dazzling Gold TB features rich rust veining against a bright gold body. Wow!

Monsignor (IB) has distinct veining up on it's shoulders.
Tangerine Carnival (1957) --just look at this old baby!
Vingolf (IB) 1924 shows the distinct white veins that I see on many of my historic iris.

p.s. looking for bearded iris with "coffee" and "espresso" in the name - DH is a specialty coffee roaster and I thought he would enjoy...he is the one that goes out first every morning to check budding progress....while I'm making the coffee!

My notes say that I got it from Iris City Gardens. I just checked their website and they still list it for $6. I can't wait for it to bloom.
