ideas for 4 h project

Brownfield, ME(Zone 4b)

Right smack in the middle of a nor'easter :( and Wed DD was riding in a t-shirt . DD is trying out for the 4H communication team. If she is chosen she will be going to the nationals in Kentucky. Getting caught up on things and thought we could use your input on some horse related topics she could use.

This is from an email from 4h She is thinking of doing one of theses:

The Public Speaking is without any props, you are talking to the
audience
for 7-9 minutes. An introduction and conclusion are required as well as
stating who you are and where you are from. Content is important, but
your
delivery is more important. (We will work on projecting your voice and
inflections as the summer moves on.) Your bilbliography does not count
in
the time, nor does the questions judges will ask. Some public speaking
talks I have heard are: Rabies, horse slaughter, using young horses too
soon, wild horse issues, adopting a horse.

Ind. Demos can be a demonstration or an illustrated talk, and run 9-12
minutes long. The scoring is simillar to Public Speaking. You will be
using props to show how to do something or to teach about something.
Some
ideas I have seen are: decorating a halter, setting up a jump course,
3Day
eventing, how to make bug spray, how to recycle bailing twine into
ropes
and halters, how to prepare for a show, poisonous plants for horses.
