question about crows

Marin, CA(Zone 9b)

Hi,

May I ask your help about something my son asked me? He asked me how one can see the difference between male and female crows. I have no idea, I've only seen black crows with no distinction!
Thank you,
Christie

No visible differences. There are some behavioural differences, if you know what to look for (e.g. a male might feed the female in courtship, but not vice-versa).

Beautiful pic Christie!

The reason I asked is; we have 2 crows that 'hang out' around my garden all the time, and one of them only has one foot. The other one always gets food for him/her, and my son wondered if they are brothers, because they look alike.

Thank you Resin, is there anything you don't know?! Can you come live with us, and teach us, we'll feed you Belgian food all day long!
