Plicatas, Plicatas! Got to love 'em!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

The snowdrifts are finally melting in my yard & I'm spring dreaming. I'm looking forward to my bearded iris with the tiny dots of plicata color covering their blooms.

Brazen Beauty struts her stuff...

Fiction is a Tall Bearded iris with an unusual lavender plicata edging the falls.

You can just see the deep red plicata dots "pop" against the white on the falls of "Stop the Music".

Stepping Out has a plicata so rich that it makes a stunning edge to the falls & standards.

Okay, now it's my turn: I have an educated guess, but, what's a plicata?

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Oh Wanda, I really like that first one, Brazen Beauty.

Wanda...."Stepping Out" and "Brazen Beauty" are really pretty.....I've definitely added those two to my "wish list" that is getting longer every day as all of you show off your gorgeous blooms.

Avmoran - Orinoco Flow is also a VERY pretty flower. I think I really lean toward all of the purples and pinks for my favorites.

Well, when I started looking thru my iris photo files, I discovered quite a few more plicatas scattered thru my beds.... I love the sprinkling of dots that makes up the edging .

How about a Border Bearded? Chickasaw Sue died out to nothing in my garden, but came back last spring!
