Last year I think I put it on in April, but found that was not early enough. Do any of you put in down in March?
toofew~
How early do you put Preen on your garden?
weather permitting id say yes!
SO...what is "preen"?
Thanks!
Preen is a weed preventer. It works well, and does not hurt exsisting plants. However, if you have annuals that come back by reseeding themselves, do not use it in this area.
I guess I will apply it in March, May, and August.
I apply in March. I re-apply 90 days later. If you follow the directions you won't have any weeding to do especially if you mulch as well.
As soon as my snow melts I'll be out there with the Preen. If you don't get it down early the weed seeds will germinate and it won't work. It only prevents weed seeds from germinating. It will not kill weeds that are already there.
The only negative to using Preen is that it prevents flower seeds from germinating as well.
i can live with that-its the weeds that drive me crazy! :)
