I am planting about 18 different types of heirloom tomatoes from seed this year. They are all at various stages and the first will be planted mid-march. Our last freeze date here in North Central Texas. I have noticed that the underside of the leaves on all the plants are purple. I know in a mature plant this would mean a lack of Phosphate. Is this normal in the first six weeks growth of the plant from seed? The oldest plants were started the last week of January and are now in the hardening off phase. They are still quite purple, but otherwise look very healthiy.

Very normal. Don't fret.
I read somewhere it's due to cold temps, Zeppy is correct, don't worry, it will go away.
Cold temps will cause purple in many of the tomato plants when young...I had this last year just after setting them out in the ground when an unseasonable cold spell hit.
