Reticulate Iris Kathryn Hodgkin

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

This Kathryn Hodgkin iris is the first good bloom for me this year aside from lots of snow drops. We did have two try to open on Feb 11, but they were so pathetic that they looked too sad to show. We have a bunch more coming. Last year they bloomed on March 28th. Patti

Patti-
What a beauty!
It is snowing here today, but I can still see my iris reticulata, a blanket of blues, purples and yellow. So it can't be all bad.

I realize that I will definitely need some iris reticulata! I didn't even know what they were until a week or two ago. Thanks for mentioning them!

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

That's lovely Patti!

I have histriodes George that blooms first for me, and has been very reliable for years. Of course it's way under snow now. Kathryn and George look like they might be a good couple.

I remember when Kathryn Hodgkin first came out. They were extremely expensive, about 5.00 per bulb. The price has really come down, which probably means they are a good spreader. will have to get some this fall.
