Tuesday: A Great Day of Sadness

for all Nature Lovers on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. My dear friend and mentor Judy Toups passed away quitely Tuesday afternoon I found out when I tried to call her later that day. I am very thankful I was able to talk to her the Sunday a week before the day I got home from the Dauphin Island trip. She meant so much to me and so many others here. She will never be forgotten by those that knew her and for all she has done for Birding in Mississippi. Cheveron Oil Refinery is covering all the expenses for the use of Pelican Landing for a Memorial Party for Judy in early May. She was a remarkable woman that can never be replaced. I think of her every morning as I sit on my front porch drinking my coffee and watching the birds in the big fountain I got from her before she moved in November
