Photos of Glads in the house

I don't have any of my own (I will this summer!), but there's a simple glad arrangement here I like. I like them done simply like this. Its the 3rd down:

In the arrangement in the link above, they've used pittisporum clustered at the bottom of the vase. Not only does that give some visual "weight" that gives balance so the whole does not look top heavy, but it provides a mechanism to hold the stems upright. Any leathery foliage plant you have growing will work.

I like this one. This would be easy for a novice, as the stems are all just clustered upright. You can use any kind of greenery at the bottom, and stones, marbles, fruit, shells, or Christmas balls could be used to fill the bowl.

I love the one in the blue and white jug, with blue amongst the glads, it looks like lavender.

I love that blue and white container too; would love to get my hands on something similar. I can't tell if the blue flower is lavender or salvia of some kind.

I'm excited to see some of the dainty, airy varieties many of us have ordered in arrangements for the home!

Every year at our Mineapolis Home and Garden Show, there are about 40 or so very creative arangements made by local designers. Most do not even use conventional vases. There is a judging, but little if any financial reward. This year, the show administration declined to pay for the materials, and every designer opted not to display. A very unfortunate matter.

It certainly is! I hope public dismay and disappointment will reverse the situation before too long, or at least before next year! Tsk. Is it public funding? Letters and phone calls could help.

No, it's not publicly funded. But it has to be a pittance in the budget of the largest home and garden show in the state.

G-S, I loved all the glad arrangements you posted. I always have cut glads in the house in season, usually with just one filler.

Laura I have a few with Glads in them...some have been posted before, not sure you have seen them however.
