Blister Beetles - alfalfa from eastern CO

Social Circle, GA(Zone 8a)

Load of Alfalfa hay from eastern Colorado has extremely toxic blister
beetles in it, which have killed 2 horses in Alabama and 7 more being
treated who may not make it.

Please pass the word - forward and cross-post -

Be sure to inspect any alfalfa hay carefully just to be sure there
are no blister beetles in it (especially important nowadays with the
hay shortage causing suppliers to bring in hay from outside sources
they may not usually do business with)

Although this report concerns Alabama, it is wise to keep in mind
that this hay could have been distributed elsewhere in the US as
well, hence the broadcasted warning.
