Was taking a tad long in loading .
CANNA ? ( Continued )
They'e looking great!!
Why, that's some mighty fine foliage you have there.
Edit to respond to previous: It's not so much a fear of nothing below, as heights don't bother me at all, but being caught in a compromised situation that I couldn't extricate myself from in a most expeditious manner. ie: hanging from a rock ledge, and coming face to face with a little snake sunning itself. That would give me a heart attack. LOL

I must say vadap ,
With all the snakes we have here in Aus.
Your scenario has never happened to me .
Our poisonous snakes cannot climb .
Only pythons can climb .
Thank you Pep .
As I said in previous thread ,
They are starting to put out a flower spike .
And all in less than 5 weeks .
Only cause you live in paradise.
Pep, You are right there .
" Surfers Paradise ".
Try Googling it . That`s where I live .
Yep. I grew up watching surfing on TV so I am definitely familiar with that.
You grew up watching it on TV .
I grew up Immersed in it 12 / 7.
Salt water that is .
Kell, have you seen this one-Tropicanna Black
http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/102752/
Yellssssssss Surfs UP
Here`s a Quiz for Yall .
Which Country has the most Shark Deaths ???
This message was edited Mar 8, 2007 5:02 AM
Tropicanna
I`m not a big collecter of other ppl`s Pics
But that Canna is an absolute Dream .
I`m going to hunt down some seed TODAY .
I`ve got to have some of that .
Thank you for that link . Kell
I've ordered that Canna, ginger, last year.
It was back ordered, twice.
They are supposed to send me two in April-
Even with a total ban on plants-can you send rhizomes to AUS?
(bet you could sneak them into a care package with other junk)
My guess is the US has the most Shark deaths
Since there's so many tourists in the water, even the sharks can't get away!!
I grew up at the beach, too--Altantic Beach, NC
Blackbeard's ship -Queen Anne's Revenge, rests off the coast near where I grew up.
Living about 4 hours from the coast now-I miss the beach, but..
We always miss most what we can`t have .
I`ll let a few more try the question before I tell you the answer .
There is a jail sentence for Plant smuggling .
Not worth it . There will be seeds sonewhere in Qld.
Get outta here! Jail for plant smuggling!
Sounds like something someone would get arrested for in my hometown!LOL
Mexico???
Hot or cold??
Alright, trying to think of other (kinda) tourist destinations..
New Zealand?
Bahamas?
Jamaica?
Japan?
Freezing .
New Zealand Is one of Australias outer Islands .
Did you know that ???
There are more Kiwis in Aus. than there are in NZ .
And most of them are on the Dole .
Greenland?
This is killin' me! Sharks are our friends where I live-never bothered me-always attacked tourists!
I was aware about the NZ, Aus-connection-My dad worked with a bunch of Kiwis in the Marshall Islands some years back.
On the dole-is that like welfare?
http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,21225208-30417,00.html
Here`s your answer . Who would have thought ?
Yes welfare.
They can get welfare here but WE can`t get it over there .
I call that one way traffic .
Another thing is , They can`t play cricket . Kell
So according to the article-Aus, Tonga, Brazil, and Reunion Island had shark deaths
But I'm proud of myself for knowing the US had the most attacks (mmm hmmm, tourists!)
In a lot of spots in North Carolina-anyone from anywhere else (even in the same town, different part of town)
Could be considered a foreigner at any time.
I can't play cricket either-
and I'm a social worker, and quite aware of the flaws with the system in our own country. (I guess I mean welfare, but what I do is a bit different)
Don't know about your country, but here, people don't really care about, or want to pay for services to help people that are either temporarily or permanently in need of social services. Of course, some peope are permanently disabled and can't work to care for themselves-but very few people make that distinction.
But that's boring talk-where's Capt. Morgan? ;)
Huh, I was thinking maybe Africa, as they fish in the surf line a lot. I spent a year in Diego Garcia (British Indian Ocean Territory) in my Navy days.We could snorkel in the lagoon, and would often see smaller sharks(under 7-8'). Once swam within abt 5' of a 5-6' hammerhead and the boat was about 20 odd feet away. That was too cool. Kell, we have pretty much the same issues with our southern neighbors. Neither of us can play cricket.
posted on you there trop. The Captain is in my Dr Pepper!
I`ve heard that Auzzie Expats in USA
Form teams and play over there ?
Aye, the Captain is nice with Dr. Pepper!
Cream soda is nice, too, if you're into something different
I've never seen cricket,
not too many Aussies around here-
met one Kiwi
Don't know about cricket. We have a lot on India expats also. There is more interest in rugby and Australian Rules.
edit to add, Yup, cream soda is tasty, too!

OK .
What is cricket? How do you play?
I'm completely in the dark about this game...
But I love all games
http://www.cricket.com.au/
Have a look here first .
I`ll try to look for a more detailed site .
Wow-looks a lot like baseball to me!!
I've never been good at it baseball, or any other sport, though I like playing basketball
It's still fun to try!
Badminton-now that's my kind of game!! :)
Badminton ?
Isn`t that just Tennis using Chickens instead of balls ???
I Don`t know if it`s played here .
Chickens!LOL
It's called a "birdie"-or "shuttlecock"-which I always thought was a funny name.
It's like a ball, cut in half, with a little net around it so it flys.
It is a lot like tennis-a backyard game
But more laid back-
And funny-you can't always see the birdie so you always have wild swinging-It's hilarious
I'm not very athletic-I try but I'm small so I never was good at sports.
Ping-Pong is fun, so are horsehoes, croquet, basketball
badmiton- tennis meets volleyball, with a really little racket and a really little shuttlecock.
We string a net across the pool and play water polo .
When I had the pool built I got it 7 ft deep all over .
So no one would hit the bottom with their head while diving.
And that`s good for WP, no one can touch the bottom & cheat .
Wish I had a pool!!
Gets so hot around here I could fry an egg.....LOL!
No swimming water closeby at all.
We play in water, sprinklers and such.
Do they have Slip-n-slides in Aus?
