Weed or what?

I posted this on the I.D. forum, but perhaps it's a Carolina native? If you're good at recognizing weeds, please take a look at my post over there. Many TIA!

I don't know the name, but I treat it as a weed. I pull them up with my weed hound. You can get them at home depot and work like a charm on that and dandelions. I go out in my yard every couple of days during winter and pull weeds with my weed hound. By Spring, my yard is essentially weed free compared to my neighbors. If my neighbors would do something about their weeds I wouldn't have to spend so much time pulling them in my yard.

That is one cool tool! :) I'm going to get one because this thing, whatever it is, has roots like a weed. It had to dig it out with a trowel, couldn't pull it.
Thanks X!

I got it first because I have Benign Positional Vertigo which means I cant look up or bend down for any length of time. With my weed hound I don't have to do either!

Deb, I don't know the name of it, but have never seen it flower either-I pull them up.

That's 2 votes for "pull it up". I think that's exactly what I'll do! :) Whatever it is, it's taking over the beds.
Thanks.
