I live in RI and my compost is frozen solid. Can I throw kitchen scraps and coffee grounds into the compost now? Or should I hold them in a container until the thaw and then start adding them in? Bear with me, I'm pretty new to the stuff.

Dumb question of the day
I've tossed a bit onto mine this year (when i could reach it) lots of coffee grounds.
I've read that it's ok and things will just "start up again" when it thaws.
I'm a newbie too.
You can add them now or add them later, which ever you prefer.
You may have to add some browns to the container, or put it in the freezer, to keep it from smelling.
I have a covered bucket on the deck so I don't have to go all the way out there so much to dump. I would just put the scraps in whenever and when it thaws nature will agan take over.
