Multiple garden "types" in your landscape?

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

I was thinking about how my landscape design is turning out, and it seems I have 3 distinct styles forming.

In the front, flanking the driveway, I'm coming up with a cottage-style design that incorporates perennials, shrubs, and annuals in a loose structure.

In my side yard, I've got a quite shady spot that I am finding is turning into a more tropical type design for color and interest.

Then, in my heavily treed back yard, I'm designing a non-structured naturalized woodland garden.

It's all still in my head at the moment, but I look forward to seeing how I can blend the styles as you walk through my little corner of paradise!
