Found this infestation. I see some bugs there, many! What are these?
What are these bugs on my Jatropha?
They're Mealy bugs, probably Hibiscus Scale insects, or Maconellicoccus hirsutus
Definitely in the Order Hemiptera, Superfamily Coccoidea (scale bugs), Family Pseudococcidae (mealy bugs), but maybe a different
genus and species than M. hirsutus.
Maybe Pseudococcus longispinus, but I don't know if they exist in India or not. I hope this helps! :)
Dinu - I know you try to be organic, but these insects are really bad for your plants, and you need to get rid of them! Again, you can use the rubbing alcohol, but you need to keep on top of the problem, as you will surely miss some of the babies...
