Try this site. Key in the closest major city to you. It should give you the last frost date for your area.

This site gives specific dates but for only a few cities.

It doesn't give Albany GA which is the closest to me that I found on the gardenaction web site. Lots of variables I'm sure when predicting the weather. I'm amased though, at how old almanacs were extremely close.

wildirish, if you plant before march 15, you will more than likely be sorry. Mike

Walter Reeves said it is April 15th for the Atlanta area but that is just an estimate. We nearly had freezing temps (34 F) two years ago in early May. An old timer I used to buy plants from said when the oaks put out new leaves it is safe to plant a garden. For N. GA. you might give it a couple more weeks - May 1st. My parents live in middle TN and they have had hard frosts in mid May some years. Potatoes usually recovered but corn usually had to be replanted. Nothing worse than having to go out and cover new plants.
