clematis multi-blue or ???

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

hi folks,
a couple of years ago now, i bought clematis 'multi blue' through wayside gardens. i planted them and they have done wonderfully, except that the flower is not what a multi blue is suppose to be. i was browsing through this forum and i saw a clematis integrifolia. this is what the size and shape of the blooms are., except the blooms are in more of a cluster

this is the best i can make it, on the computer. the stem is the dashes and then the other vertical lines are
stems too. the flowers come off at the ends of these and one at the topof the cluster stem too.

now i grew it the first year and i got a few of these little blossoms. the second year it took off and produced these little blue bell flowers. i thought, well maybe the vine has to mature more before the large double flowers come out. well year 3 is coming up and i got a feeling that i don't have clematis multi blue. anyone have any knowledge about this for me, wise words of wisdom????????

thanks,
debi z & little franklin too.

Hi Debi,

Sometimes nursery stock labels are put into the wrong plants and mix ups do happen. If what you have does not match the pictures in PlantFile, then you were not sent the plant you ordered. Please take a picture of your Clematis when it is in bloom and re-post your question at that time. It is very difficult to give you an educated guess otherwise.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

thanks shirley, good advice. i'll most likely be buying a couple more clematis to replace these. i wanted large flowers to go against the red of my barn/shed.

debi - send Wayside a photo and your receipt number and request the plant you really ordered.
