I found this on the underside of the leaf (dutchman's pipe). I wondered if it was a white fly nest (?). I see them flying around occasionally.
Is this the white fly that troubles?
The flies aren't very clear in the photo, which isn't your fault because they are very small - about 1/16 inch. I have been fighting whiteflies in my herb garden and on inside plants for a while and haven't seen the fibers shown in your photo. I have uploaded a silverleaf whitefly photo from the USDA. That may help you identify them.
Thanks bsulli. Yours in the pic is yellow tinged, but what we have here is the snow white little tiny creatures just like the one in your pic. Those fibres are probably a nest sort of thing they have made (methinks).
