Construction Materials Developed From Manure Products

I didn't know where else to post this... I detest the plastic part but at least they are looking at ways to use manure unfit for gardening.

Quoting:
Construction Materials Developed From Manure Products

A Michigan State University Extension educator has developed a way to turn manure into environmentally friendly construction materials. An anaerobic digester was used to break down manure solids into a fibrous material; the digester fiber was then combined with plastic to create a digester fiber/plastic composite product that can be used as decking and medium-density fiberboard. When tested, the fiber/plastic composite met or exceeded industry standards and even performed better than some wood/plastic composite products. The development of the fiber/plastic “lumber” was supported by a grant from the Michigan Biomass Energy Program.

Saw a show on The Discovery Channel's Dirty Jobs, were they made peat pots out of cow manure. Called it Poo pots. Figured that was a better idea than peat, as it should break down faster, eh?

Good Idea.

I guess if you built somethign out of it, and it didn't work out well, then you could call it a sorry piece of s&%t and be telling the truth...
