Sometimes we just take shots of iris.....tons and tons of them.
"Framed" Fields of Iris
Chevalier de malte in the first pic? Thanks again for the pics.

Breathtaking Margie!
Where were the pictures taken, #4 looks like a picture I saw of Schreiners fields. Don't even tell me this is your place!
Maybe you should get a large printer, some really nice frames and set up shop. These rival Monet and Van Gogh paintings.
Laura, the first photo is from Keith Keppel's garden from 2 years ago...............These are his reselect seedlings. I don't know if they made the final cut or not. He did introduce 'Gypsy Lord' - - which was ina bed nearby.
And Polly, thanks, ....................I wish they were my fields/my place!!! The above photos were taken at Schreiners and at Keppel's fields. And #4 - - is surely Schreiners........................you've got a good eye. :-)
I just couldn't imagine having that many irises...I wonder how many Schreiner's does have ? Great pictures Margie !
Thanks Margie, for photographs of such luxurious fields of iris. You are a terrific photographer! The iris you chose to photograph were wonderful. Thanks for such a feast for the eyes and the soul!
Wonderful photos, Margie! I need to make the rounds to the iris fields again this year. I didn't do it last year and I sure miss them!
Margie, what gave #4 away was the other flowers planted occassionally and the pansies. I recall seeing a TV show-- maybe Paul James on Schreiners, and noticed how nice the iris looked with some other flowers interplanted.
EYE CANDY is so delicious. Thank you, made my day.

Margie,
What type of camera do you use, if I may ask?
Laura
Hi Laura,
I know I've been gone a while. I came down with the worse flu I've had in over 10 years.
I'm using a digital camera that is about 4-5 years old now. it's a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S70 (it has a Carl Zeiss lens). The Carl Zeiss multicoating guarantees vibrant pictures with superior definition and natural color rendition. Cropping (or sharpening - if need be) of the photo and the photo framing effects are through use of the the paint Shop Pro graphics program.
One thing I really like about this camera is that it has a "voice" feature. So as I take a photo it let's me say and record the name of the iris. I never have to use paper to write down the names of the irises that I'm taking a picture of - - it's all recorded. all I have to do is "play" the recorded image. I should upgrade, but it's hard to find that "voice" feature. Does anyone here have that feature on a newer camera?
~ Margie
Darcy made a very good choice! Thanks Margie - Beautiful fields of dreams. My Panasonic which is about a year old has voice recording on it and image stabilization. It's not a SLR though - making it lighter. I'm sure that there are a lot of good cameras out there with voice though and it the Panasonic has a Leica lens not a Zeiss lens.
Oh, what a beautiful field of iris at Shreiner's and what a nice patch of iris at Cooley's. It must have been heavenly being there.
HI Dorothie!! Yes, Darcy did make a good choice! I love those colors don't you? So, your Panasonic has voice recording for still photos too? I'm spoiled now.......... I won't go back to writing the names on paper while I'm taking photos. Not since I discovered this.

Margie my buddy! That's exactly what I call my iris garden...my field of dreams! Great minds. Beautiful photos and I admire the touches you've added. Thanks for those!
