Need some info about the African Yellow Iris ...

I know this is a rather plain jane iris, but could I bother y'all for some info about it. I need to know if it blooms for just one day or re-opens day after day for a period of time. And I'd appreciate any other info about this plant as well.

Anita - Awesome! Thank you for all the great links! Very helpful indeed! I didn't know it was called the Fortnight Lily. Interesting info.

Edited to add:

What's the best fertilizer to feed it to get blooms? I have 5 of these African Lilies that have been in the ground for over 3 years. The one in the photo just bloomed for the first time. I had never seen what the blooms looked like until now. I'd love to get the other four plants to bloom too. Any suggestions?

I use bloom Booster from Home Depot
http://www.epinions.com/hmgd-Lawn_and_Garden-Fertilizers-All-Miracle_Gro_Bloom_Booster/display_~full_specs

it's 10-52-10 so you don't need alot I will sometimes mix it with 10-10-10 or even 5-5-5- 25% the lower and the rest bloom booster
Love it apply very early and again after blooms are complete
