cowpots

Hi!
I was watching dirty jobs on tv the other day and there was a man, Matt Freund, who owns and operates a dairy farm. He processes the manure and makes planting pots from the composted manure. He calls them CowPots. I was wondering if anyone has used these and if so what kind of results have they had.

I was intrigued. Googled it. http://www.freundsfarmmarket.com/cowpots/growinghints.html

Sounds like you plant the whole pot after starting seeds. I'd be interested in results too if anyone has used them. I had a little topiary looking bunny that was supposed to disintegrate in the garden slowly releasing nutrients. It was cute and made of manure too. There were other animals on the package.

The bunny sounds cute! Where did you find it?

At Goodwill, where I find most everything unusual. Must have been someone's gift that they never even opened then gave to GW.

They were called poo pets. I saw them in a nursery that had strange gifts here but they were about 15 bucks. That was several years ago. I did fine some just now on this site. http://www.gardengazebo.com/poopets but these are not as cute as the bunny or the others on the package of the one I found. I think there was even an elephant.

Thanks for the link! Did you notice any effects from using them?

I wasn't really into gardening at the time I found it but I thought it was a neat idea and conversation piece. That was a while back when I was a murderer of any plant I tried to keep anyway so I couldn't be any help on the effects. It would disintegrate as you watered or it rained and then it was no more. :(

LOL! I know the feeling! I've had some plants that no matter what they were doomed to be brown and shriveled!
