With the ground frozen from the Saturday snow my feeder was busy all day. Junco, Cardinals, Catbird, Carolina Wrens, Chickadee, Titmouse, Nuthatch, Finch, Woodpeckers, and of course the Sparrows and (yuck) Starlings. The large crowd kept me busy refilling the feeder all day.
Busy Feeder
I know what you mean. I'm even trying to throw some finch food around on the ground for the White Throated Sparrows and others.
I have been putting out extra seed and especially suet (fat) for the ground feeders, too, now that it's so cold. the chickadees and little sparrows are so fun to watch!
A little article about how birds survive the winter:

Good article. Thanks tabasco!
I came to find out , that on days , when temperatures are close or below freezing , if I will throw on the ground some , cut small pieces of frozen pork fat, not only do I have crows and starlings go crazy for it. Also sparrows and juncos and one stuborn steller`s jay too , are welcoming free high fat . :)
