What have you ordered already?

Nashville, TN(Zone 7a)

By this time last year I had already ordered 150 iris. For various boring reasons, I'm not ordering this year (well, maybe a small Snowpeak order later.......).

So to get my iris fix, what have you ordered that you want the most?

Philadelphia, PA

I placed my first order with Barry Blyth this year. Reckless in Denim, Coffee Trader, Full of Smoke.

Philadelphia, PA

I meant Full of Magic

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

What nursery is Barry Blyth? I'm wishing through a catalog right now. I'll update if (when) I order.

Philadelphia, PA

Barry Blyth is in Australia. His website is below. You may have to copy and paste. If you click on the link for new introductions you'll see what I've ordered.

Thank you for the link, Mit.

Greensboro, AL

Mitt: Oh! My! How could you ever pick among those? Each one is so beautiful. But I am a total sucker for orange beards. Always reminds me of my dogs laughing.

Los Alamos, NM(Zone 5a)

I haven't received any Iris catalogs this year. Where besides Australia are you all ordering this early?

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

I have my Blue J order in, they started accepting orders 1/1. Superstition has said the new catalogues will be out in March.

Nashville, TN(Zone 7a)

The Blyth ones are great. So is his Reckless in Denim.

Lebanon, OR

Snowpeak catalog will be mailed on 2-1 and the webpage should be finished 2-15-07

Very pretty indeed! Do you have a website? I belong to the SKIS. I don't have a large collection but I do enjoy the ones I have. Fade to Black is one that I cannot wait to see bloom. I planted it last May hopefully it has settled in and will bloom. Does anyone have Huckleberry Fudge? Someone posted that it smell like chocolate?

Beautiful babies... I don't dare order more iris at this point. I tore up my beds & added a front row of dwarfs all the way around the yard last summer + several Kasparek streaked TBs. Should be interesting.

Nashville, TN(Zone 7a)

Hi Teresa-

I have Huckleberry Fudge, but I'm allergic to iris, so I don't go sniffing them. But if it blooms this year, I'll check it out.

Wanda-
We expect lots of pictures this year. I've added some Kasparek last year, also.

I may have to check those in P. Files. Thanks, Neil

I don't know yet just what to order or from where. I have a wish list of several but nothing is set in stone yet. However I will gladly take anything anyone wants share with me. I'm a shameless old scrounge. LOL I have several from Tazzy that should bloom for the first time this year and some I was given last fall that may give some blooms this year. All were pretty small rhizomes so I knew I would have to wait for blooms. I got some really tiny (almost weren't as I can them)rhizomes from Dr. Henderson's collection at PG last summer. They were trimmings from what were for sale and had been tossed into the compost pile. So I have no idea what they are until they bloom and I can go up there with pictures and get IDs.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Oh, I tease tazzy quite a bit. My soil is so good for iris that I get "hitchhikers" with her roots that she hasn't seen bloom in 7-8 years! And great increases on her seedlings.

Look at this gorgeous Mulberry Snow that bloomed this year in a clump of her iris.

Wanda:
What's that purple-y one with it?
Laetitia

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Do you mean the voluptous blooms of Ecstatic Echo?

The Mulberry Snow (a true mulberry color with 'snow" on it's falls) is a cultivar of Austin, 1955. I was surprised to see "horns" on many of the blooms.

Well Neil and others that have asked, Snowpeak Iris and Daylilies is up and running for 2007.
Notice a ton of newer and many more Siberian Iris.

WooHoo Denise !!! Just in time to spend all the $$$ I just collected at e-Bay. Timing is everything.

BTW- Cooley's is up and running today.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Mitt,

How did you order from Barry Blyth's site? I've determined that I cannot live without Glamour Pants, Ruby Haze and Taste the Magic. However, I can't figure out how to order them or how much damage this is going to do to my credit card. ;)

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Joan, A GREAT deal of damage. Maybe a joint or mini-coop order would be better. Will still break the bank though. Any bank, anywhere.
Ginny

BTW, anyone know when Aitken's website will go up?
http://www.flowerfantasy.net

Net?? I know but this does work.

inanda - waiting for a chinook or simile

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I was afraid of that, but I've been known to break the bank before. :) If anyone else is interested in these, I wonder if we could get a price break somewhere.? Hmmm....

Greensboro, AL

Mitt contacted me about a coop. Maybe he will show up with some information.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

People in Ottawa did one a couple of years ago. Ended up that it turned out very expensive - Maybe I'm just too cheap.

Greensboro, AL

I think new hybrids are going to be expensive because the hybridizer has a lot invested in them. If you want to be cheap, wait until they are no longer new.
Another option may be to contact Barry in Australia, and ask him if he has some older ones he would be willing to offer us as a DG coop. He must have some he wants to move.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

I usually wait a bit on the new ones. Iowa's winters are tough and summers are dry. Many of the new introductions in iris & daylilies just don't make it here.
