Bit question

(Sheryl) Gainesboro, TN(Zone 6b)

So, according to the guy who brought Alee to me, she's only ever been in a Tom Thumb bit. She didn't care too much for the Kimberwick I have had her on, although I promise I was very careful with it - she sure doesn't need anything tough, I've never ridden a horse that was this sensitive.

When I look at the Tom Thumbs, they don't strike me as being all that gentle, what with the longer shanks on them. Would you recommend sticking with what she's familiar with or should I go to a snaffle, like a D-ring or egg butt?
