Slip Through Your Fingers?

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Is there anything you once had and let it go just to find out later what it was you really had. I spotted a photo at an estate auction once along with some others and I told Robin I wanted that box. Well the box came up and we got it for $10. I took the photo and put it in a frame that was appropriate for it and hung it in our booth at an antique store. Something about the photo kept nagging at me as if I should know it but could never put a finger on it.

A couple of months past and a gentleman and his wife came in commenting on the photo and they knew someone who would be very interested in it. That gentleman came in with his wife and said the same thing I did about it, he left and came back a couple of days later worried and excited about the photo as to whether it was still there or not. After paying $125 for it he was asked what it was that was special about the photo. The gentleman was president of the Fort Worth historical society and the photo was President Lincoln being escorted into Gettysburg to deliver his address by the Union army.

Sad the photo left me, glade it found a good home.
