My husband keeps telling me I need a new fence. I think this one is just getting good.
Split rail fence
I love those types of fences. They have so much personality.
HollyAnn, it's practically perfect !
The only thing that would improve it is a red cardinal
perched on it. :o)
Or a bald eagle.
The Cardinals hang out in the back yard. But the holes on the lower rail are from a Woodpecker. My son sleeps in the downstairs front bedroom and he complained that he could hear him every morning.
Better than a rooster that crows in the middle of the night every night. LOL. Luckily I no longer have my chickens so I don't have to worry about it now. The only thing I miss is fresh brown eggs but I can get those at work now. lol
I many years ago I had chickens and goats and several other things. There was an old mobile home on a 1/2 acre piece of property that is right beside my barn. One day when I was down mucking out the "New" neighbor came out and said that my chichens and goats were disturbing his sleep. I asked him if he didn't "notice the barn" when he bought his property. He didn't live there very long. ;}

Holly, the pic posted at 8:36 looks like there is a miniature flower garden growing on the rail. cool.
