Pelicans

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

Hi. Does anyone have photos of pelicans to share? This photo of a Brown Pelican was taken on a salt water canal in Florida.

Nice pic, our pelicans are gone. We get white ones in the summer.

Looks like the little...ummm...big guy is posing for you. How cute.

Most people think of pelicans as shorebirds. But, we have them here in Arkansas during the late summer and winter. I will have to make a trip to the river or bigger lake and see if I can get a picture or two.

Recently, I took a few photos of White Pelicans at the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge on the eastern shore of Maryland.
They were quite some distance from me but my 500mm lens brought them much closer. Their presence here is somewhat rare.

Nice photos, are they rare there? They say they aren't here either, but I see them every year. So easy to pick out with how they fly/coast.

Great photos everyone!!! This is my favorite 'FL type' bird to see when DH and I travel to FL for vacation! We went to the Suncoast Seabird Santuary on the Gulf coast and got these photos last January.

Wow: I asked for folks to share their photos, and I was overwhelmed. Great shots. I especially like seeing the birds on the man-made nesting platforms.

Melbourne, FL

This is the only decent Pelican shot I have, mainly because I spend very little time near the water.

Well I sure don't have any pelican pictures to share. I know I don't have those in my area, but wish I did. Very nice pictures everyone !
