Amaryllis ready for planting outside?

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

My two amaryllis have bloomed and now the leaves are limp and have fallen over the pot. Can anyone give me advice on what I can do with them now? I'd really like to plant them outside. If I can, do I plant them with part of the bulb exposed?

Well, here is what I would do...LOL....keep them inside near a window if possible...and keep them moist, not wet...mine put out more scapes after a little rest....and rebloomed in February last year, after they bloomed around Christmas the first time..yours may or may not...I cut the scapes off after they got mushy, the leaves will actually turn yellow when they are ready to fall off or be cut back....I wouldn't put them into the ground until after the last frost if I were you...but that is just MHO...lol...hope you had a wonderful Christmas!!!!
