I've had a sapsucker in my tree for awhile and noticed this one always around at the same time. It looks bigger in the picture than what it really is, could it be a baby yellow bellied sap sucker ?
CLOSED: Possible baby sap sucker?
It's a Yellow-rumped Warbler (of the western subspecies, a.k.a. Audubon's Warbler). It will be visiting the sapsucker holes to 'steal' some sap (birds aren't above doing this sort of thing!)

not sure I agree on Yellow-rumped Warbler in the first pic but I don't have books on western species. Is possible it could be a female. Winter plumage make IDing more difficult as well. 2nd pic looks more like a woodpecker than a sapsucker to me
Second one is a Red-naped Sapsucker (breeds Rockies, winters southeast CA, southern AZ)

2nd one really does look like a sapsucker to me.
I agree with the other posters that the 1st one is some sort of warbler. Which one? Beats me! ;)
Deb
So I must have more than one sapsucker around here, and possibly a warbler. Didn't even know I had warblers here. I don't have one called a Red-naped in my cheapy book. Could it be called something else?
I don't have one called a Red-naped in my cheapy book
Time to treat yourself to a new book! - Sibley or National Geographic

Resin, I'm banned from all extras till I get a job. Then it will definetly be on my list along with many other things, like plants.

Deb: Thanks so much for that info. That is the right bird, I could tell by the noise. Drives my cat nuts when I play the bird songs.
LOL.My parrot loves it when I play the Birdsong CD. He already imitates the hawks really well.
And so where is a pic of you parrot, are you holding out of us? (LOL)
How cute, or handsome, should I say. And can Teddy Talk ?
Teddy is one pretty cool bird Pelle!!
Tell him i said "pretty bird!"

Thanks!Yes, talks, sings and imitates all sorts of sounds. Now that its winter he's doing someone blowing their nose, lol.
Too funny, and I'll bet he eats better than you ?
Naturally!
My cats also eat better than I. I figure it's not their fault they have a lazy mom who won't get off her laptop and go find a job (lol), right now I'm cooking them chicken breast for dinner. I guess I'll get the leftovers to put in a salad.
I have 3 cats but only 1 of them will eat any type of people food.
I have two, a small skinny one and a large fat one. Both both are spoiled.
Pelletory,
LOL
