tomatoes-long keepers

Endicott, NY

I definitely have tomato withdrawl. Does anyone have anything positive to say about the tomatoes that are listed in catalogs as long-keepers? Are they worth growing? Do they taste any better than the cardboard storebought ones? If so, which ones?

I tried them once. They aren't bad. I had 'fresh' tomatoes for Christmas.
They are not like Big Boy for taste but in November they are pretty good.
I think I got them from Park Seed.

I've resigned myself to cherry & grape tomatoes for the winter.

I've been getting a tomato at my local subermarket labeled Ugli Ripe. Set on the window sill for a day or two, they're almost believable!

I'll try'em!
